Warren Miles and Grischa Schwank met whilst studying at Raindance in the UK, soon after they formed Brokengate Media Productions and have worked on numerous projects since then.
Warren obtained a Law Degree and pursued a career in Law, however it became apparent that the office environment was not suited to his personality, and having started film making in his early teens, decided to turn his talent and intellect to this. Absorbed also by the relationship between music and the moving image, Warren’s creative process in aesthetic is closely linked to the melody and energy of music, drawing inspiration from each.
Grischa started early to dream to become a filmmaker. Soon after college he moved abroad to Buenos Aires, where he dived into the world of the seventh art, studying Directing and Editing for two years in a practical film school. His curiosity in storytelling in general was that big, that he also obtained a degree in Literature Sciences. This literal injection of books and stories influenced him, but the wish to tell stories through images was bigger.
Both filmmakers share a real interest in the human condition and how this translates to screen, they started filming various projects together. Attracted to the enduring appeal of battle as an aesthetic and as an examination of the psychology and will of man, they embarked on a test project, culminating in the creation of Beyond the Cage.
